Maintaining Excellence: Why Caring For Your Court Matters

Maintaining high-quality squash courts is essential to the success, safety, and long-term sustainability of any club. Well-maintained courts not only enhance player performance and enjoyment, but also help prevent injuries, protect structural integrity, and reduce the risk of costly repairs in the future. Regular inspection of flooring, wall finishes, lighting, and environmental conditions ensures courts remain compliant with current standards and continue to provide the best possible playing experience for members of all ages and abilities.

As proud partners of Squash Wales, DYNAMIK is committed to supporting clubs across the country in protecting and enhancing their facilities. We understand the challenges clubs face and are here to help. That’s why we offer free site visits, along with expert technical advice and ongoing support to all affiliated clubs throughout Wales. Whether you’re planning refurbishment works or simply want guidance on court maintenance, our team is ready to assist you in keeping your courts in top condition for years to come.

If you’d like to discuss your facility or book your free site visit, feel free to get in touch with our team at [email protected] or 0117 301 5120, or browse our website at www.dynamiksportsfloors.co.uk.

There are still a couple of spaces available for our next Squash Camp which takes place on Monday the 16th of February. What with the weather looking not-too-good next week, why not organise a bit of half term fun now? Click here for more information.

Juniors & Seniors Going from Strength to Strength

Squash Wales juniors have delivered an outstanding set of performances this season, with all Boys’ teams (U11, U13, U15 and U17), alongside the Girls’ U13, U15 and U17 teams, successfully qualifying for the Inter County Championship Finals Weekend in Sheffield, taking place on 21–22 March. This represents a tremendous achievement and highlights the growing depth and quality within the junior pathway.

On the senior front, it has been really positive to see strong regional representation. We wish both teams the very best of luck as they compete on 15 February, with South Wales in Gloucestershire and North Wales in Shrewsbury.

A major milestone for Squash Wales takes place on Sunday 1 March, with the launch of our first-ever U11 National Development Tournament. Following the success of the pilot programme introducing separate Girls’ and Boys’ U11 National Development Squads, this event marks an important step forward in providing meaningful competitive opportunities at the earliest stages of the pathway.

We now have over 24 players involved across these age groups, and a key long-term goal is to establish a Girls’ U11 Inter County team, joining the boys’ programme. This progress would not be possible without the continued support of clubs and coaches, and Squash Wales would like to thank Richard Wright, Bronte Wright, Chris Powell, Mark Harris and Bevan Duff for their invaluable contribution in helping to facilitate such a positive and progressive programme.

With national representation opportunities just around the corner for both juniors and seniors, we would like to wish all Squash Wales teams the very best of luck as they prepare to compete in the Five Nations and the Junior and Senior European Team Championships.

Squash Wales continues to be in a strong position, with a clear pathway and exciting opportunities ahead for players at every level.

2026 Leagues Progressing Well

The Spring 2026 season is now underway with most teams completing either 3, or 4, of their fixtures.

We are welcoming new, and returning players, virtually every week, and, as you know new players can be added to team ranks at anytime provided they have suitable Squash Wales membership.

Referee numbers too are increasing with more and more players uploading the WSO Referee certificate to their GM profiles and being eligible to claim Referee bonus points - which can be a deciding factor for league positions at the end of the season!

The new structure for South East and South West is working well and giving a number of very close results now teams within leagues are more evenly matched.

Mid season will soon be upon us and if there are any "fine tunings" to ranks for Period Two clubs will need to let me know before the end of period One

Good luck to all with the rest of the Spring season and enjoy your Squash!

Wheelchair Squash

In partnership with Tennis Wales, we’re proud to announce two exciting developments in wheelchair racket sport.

We will be delivering a free Wheelchair Inclusion Training Session on the 18th of March for coaches, followed by a six-week Wheelchair Squash and Tennis Pilot programme starting on the 18th of April. This collaboration aims to grow opportunities, build confident coaches, and create clear pathways for wheelchair and disabled participants across both sports.
